First Post!


    Hey peers! This is my first blog post. My name is Nhan Le and I am a freshman at Florida State University. I am currently on the road to graduate with a master's degree in social science education. I was born and raised in South Florida next to a beach. I've recently moved to Tallahassee to study in person instead of online. In my free time, I like to skate in the park and have fun with friends. I am looking forward to this semester to make new opportunities and friends.
    When it comes to using technology, I am pretty good at it as I grew up using technology, especially for educational purposes. When I was in elementary school, I used technology to play educational games or learn basic skills on it. I know most people that grew up at my age would know websites such as cool math or games in general. Then I got to middle school where I learned how to use Microsoft apps to grow my learning skills such as word, office, excel, etc. Even in high school, students had to take standardized testing using computers. Technology has been a great advancement to studying with access to knowledge with a single search!
    Personal learning networks that I've used to help me get through school would be apps such as Microsoft word or khan academy. I've used Khan academy when studying for the SAT and also many classes. I also use Quizlet to help me study key terms and notes to help me remember important things. Another learning network I use is youtube as it has many online lectures and informative videos.

    Hi Nhan! I think it's very cool and lucky of you to have good experience concerning technology. Quizlet was something I did not think I would be using throughout college but honestly, I am fortunate enough to have it at this point.

    Hey Nhan! It’s nice to meet you. I think it is cool we have similar PLNs considering we are 4 years apart. I used Khan Academy when I was taking Chemistry classes. I can not even imagine what our education experience would be like if we did not have the technology advancements we have today. I used Quizlet more in college than I did in high school it is such a life saver.

 Hey Peers,     Today, I will write about surveys and how they can be beneficial to student teaching. First off, teachers need feedback to become better teachers. There is no such thing as a perfect teacher unless you're Robin Williams in dead poet society. I would use surveys to allow my students to give me feedback on how I can improve as a teacher. For grade matter, I would most likely teach social science so I'd survey my students on what areas or projects to study on. Maybe survey students on how their favorite period of history to focus on. Blog Journal 2

      Microsoft Word has been the main writing software I use. Microsoft word has been the most convenient tool when it comes to writing papers. I can always rely and remain diligent on Microsoft word. For example, this program I'm using doesn't have many edit options as Word such as line spacing or lettering styles. I don't remember doing much word in elementary school, but I do in middle school. In 8th grade, I remember taking a Microsoft course with word, office, excel which I'm all certified for mastering. Then in high school, I used Microsoft word for many papers so I am very accustomed to it.     I believe the most important ISTE standard would have to be leadership. Growing up, I've seen many disobedient students simply because of a lack of leadership. Now, I'm not saying that leadership should be strict obedience and dictatorship. Blog Journal #6

Hey Peers!      Diigo seems to be a very useful learning tool with the option to highlight and discuss with peers. However, the time that I've been Diigo, it has deleted my account. I've tried multiple times to verify my account before I could recreate it again. This might have been a minor issue but it got me frustrated for a bit. Diigo itself is a good learning platform for teachers and peers to interact with each other though. I find the sticky note and highlight features very useful for the next time I have to write a paper or just want to learn!     The blogging process is nothing special in my eyes. I find the need to write about yourself seems narcissistic and pretentious in a sense, but if it appeals to others then I'm not judging on that. I do understand the need to write especially or just share things in a non-personal way.
