Hey peers,
There are pros and cons to distance learning. First off, learning online gives less motivation to students. Students now have to pay less attention in class due to not being actively watched and listened to. When students aren't being watched actively, they can't be punished for not paying attention in class. Personally, it is hard for me to be motivated to pay attention and I know it is hard for some of my friends to pay attention in class due to it being remote or online. Now the only pro I can say about online learning is that it is very flexible on where you are. You can now attend class anywhere so you're not wasting time heading to class. If I were a teacher, I would try to be enthusiastic as possible to teach my distant learners.
Furthermore, I found this website that provides information on Open Education Resources (OER) on a New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE) website. The definition according to the New England Board is that it is an umbrella term that represents the idea to retain, reuse, revise, and redistribute information. OER combats things like textbooks that have a barrier to learning resources. NEBHE provides many open education resources as they push the idea and belief that open education is the best to high access material for a low-cost.

For the two PowerPoint projects we have done, I feel as if assignment four was a lot more productive than assignment five. Assignment five, I've learned how to make a Kahoot on PowerPoint which in turn becomes busy work while assignment four gave practice to lecturing. Assignment five taught me how to make an interactive quiz on it, however, there are programs like Kahoot that are meant for that purpose. Powerpoint is for presentations like assignment four on teaching a lecture. Overall, I learned a lot from these assignments and can approve of making them more interesting with more graphics and animations!
